Quilt from HELL

Well here's a quilting update...remember my first quilt that I posted in a previous blog entry? Well I thought I was buzzing along doing so well and well, I ran into a major snag along the way. Three days ago I was basting it ( putting it together like a sandwich- top, fluff and bottom) and didn't do it the way I was taught to do it because I figured my way was smarter... WRONGO! There was a reason why I was suppose to baste it diagonally... anyway...the end result was a jacked up quilt. I thought by basting it from outer edges to inside would be brilliant but it got all bunched up and looked really bad. So bad there was no way of covering up with a cute little heart or star appliques M-F! SO...the past few days I have been working along with my darling husband ( Thank you Andrew- you are a gem!) to seam rip out all the basting... I think we pulled like 2500 seams since yesterday! And just when you think it couldn't get any worse.... today when I went to get the quilt to rip yet some more seams... I found my 120 lb dog lying all over it licking his balls. So now I have a jacked up quilt with black dog hair and shweaty dog ball residue on it. I can't wait to finish this dam quilt.

You silly girl! I was going to tell you...but you were having so much fun (ha, ha, ha!) basting! But Crazy quilts can just be tied! And a lot of them don't have any batting in the middle at all! Would that help?

You crack me up! You are a total "do it yourselfer, tho" and I think you're amazing!

Oh, and put up a photo, maybe I can send over some "SAVING THE PIECE" help!
