Chicken Riggies???
UMMMM... could someone PLEASE explain to me why I managed to dodge "Chicken Riggies" my whole life growing up in Utica, NY?
I have this girlfriend Kelly who kept talking about "Chicken Riggie" this and "Chicken Riggie" that and finally one day ( like in the early 90's....long after high school) I asked her, WHAT the HELL is a Chicken Riggie!? So she sends me this recipe kind half hazardly put together on chicken scratch and I make it and I'll be dammed....it's good! So here it is, ( like 6 years later) and I'm thinking... hmmmm, I'd like to make me some more of that chicken riggie stuff and I can't find the recipe so of course I google and find this article and recipe: http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6187 and come to find out there's a friggin' Chicken Riggie Fest in Utica, NY every year?! Wow- so Buffalo has the chicken wing, Chicago has the deep dish pizza and Utica has the Chicken Friggin' Riggie! Anyway- try this recipe for those of you who dare to venture... it's pretty amazing. In fact my husband said ( I quote) " This might be the best meal I've ever had!" So there you have it. Oh yeah... add a cup of parmesan cheese at the end and 3-5 hot cherry peppers julienned and a 1/4 cup of the cherry pepper juice. Chicken Friggin' Riggies! Diggin' it!

oh, and by the way, my Mom claims her Riggies are the best. Just like everyone else around here.
